Fancy Nancy fans, rejoice! The beloved children's book series is going to be adapted into a television show. Variety reported on March 27 that Disney Junior acquired the rights to create "an animated telepic and series adaptation" of Fancy Nancy -- with plans to premiere in 2017. Written by Jane O’Connor and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser, the Fancy Nancy books detail the adventures of a spunky little girl who loves to learn "fancy" new words and wear "fancy" clothes, like tutus, boas, and fairy wings.
