For Kinney, the bold black cover takes the series in a different direction: “For the 10th book, I wanted to bring things back to basics, and nothing says ‘Old School’ for a cartoonist more than black, the color of ink,” he said in a release.
To support the global release event, which Abrams hopes will make this “the biggest book and book event of the year, not just in North America but around the world,” said Michael Jacobs, president and CEO of Abrams, Kinney will head out on an around-the-world tour, a first for the series.
