Sunday Story Time in Mr. Morgan's Library

Date: June 28, 2015- October 11, 2015 Location: New York City, N.Y. Time: 3:00 pm-4:00 pm The Morgan Library and Museum is hosting a story time, coinciding with the Alice: 150 Years  of Wonderland exhibit. Every Sunday from June 28 through October 11, from 3-4 pm, children can follow Alice through Wonderland and hear about her amazing tale. Afterwards, visit the exhibit and discover the very book that Lewis Carroll created by hand for his friend Alice Liddell. This event is free with museum admission. Appropriate for ages 3-6.

The 10th Annual Brooklyn Book Festival: Children's Day

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the Brooklyn Book Festival will present a Children's Day for kids ages 2-11 at Metro Tech Commons in downtown Brooklyn on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 10 am-4pm.  Enjoy authors and illustrators in readings, performances, and workshops, as they present new and beloved children's books. Kids will also have the opportunity to meet costumed characters, join musical performances, and browse the Children's Marketplace of booksellers, all in an outdoor setting. Mary Poppins Display at the New York Public Library!

A display of rare "Mary Poppins'-related artifacts donated by author P. L. Travers is now on view at the New York Public Library. Items include: Travers' umbrella, which inspired the magical umbrella Mary Poppins uses to fly. A Dutch wooden doll belonging to Travers- illustrator Mary Shepard's model for the beloved nanny. "N is for Nursery", a pen and ink illustration for Mary Poppins from A to Z (1962) by Shepard. The display is located in the children's room of the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, and will be on view until the fall when the Winnie the Pooh collection returns from restoration. In the future, the Mary Poppins treasures may become part of the library's permanent collection. Date: June 12, 2015- September 23, 2015

A Celebration of Dr.Seuss

This is so exciting for all you Dr. Seuss fans out there! I don't have all the details yet but an event will be taking place on Sunday, December 13, 2015 in New York City. Famed author Jarrett J. Krosoczka, author of the series Lunch Lady and Platypus Police Squad,  will host the " A Celebration of Dr. Seuss" event. Several special readers and guests will take part. It will be held in the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space. More details to follow! ~Miss Elena

The Hunger Games Exhibit has come to New York!

If you enjoyed the Hunger Games Trilogy perhaps a trip to Discovery Times Square would be icing on the cake for you! The Hunger Games: the Exhibition is now open in Times Square and will run through January 3, 2016. The exhibit showcases costumes, props, set recreations and interactive features tied to the popular book series and movies. Visitors can explore 7 galleries, giving a look at Panem's districts and the games. Admission ranges from $22.50 to $29.50, and is open for all ages. The exhibit is located at Discovery Times Square 226 44th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues).
