Popular Children's Book 'Fancy Nancy' To Hit The Small Screen

Fancy Nancy fans, rejoice! The beloved children's book series is going to be adapted into a television show.
Variety reported on March 27 that Disney Junior acquired the rights to create "an animated telepic and series adaptation" of Fancy Nancy -- with plans to premiere in 2017.

Written by Jane O’Connor and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser, the Fancy Nancy books detail the adventures of a spunky little girl who loves to learn "fancy" new words and wear "fancy" clothes, like tutus, boas, and fairy wings. The series celebrates individuality and creative expression, all while helping young readers develop broader vocabularies.
